Privacy Policy
This policy explains what NerveLabs, Inc. ("we") collects when you use Synapse at synapseengine.ai, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We collect as little as the Service needs, and we do not sell personal information.
What we collect
When you reserve a seat
Your email address, the plan you picked, the page you reserved from, where you came from (a campaign tag in the link or the referring site), your browser's user-agent string, and the time. Your IP address is used for about a minute to limit abuse of the form and is not stored with your reservation.
When you browse the public pages
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits to the public pages (the homepage, pricing and similar). It does not use cookies. We also keep our own aggregate page counts per day (by page, campaign tag and referring site); they use no cookies, and no IP address or other personal data is stored with them. On the public pages we also run the Google Ads tag, which sets cookies so we can tell whether our Google ads bring visitors and trial sign-ups. It is set not to be used for ad personalization or remarketing, it never loads on signed-in pages, and it does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.
On the public pages we also run the Meta Pixel. It sets cookies and tells Meta which of our pages you viewed and whether you tapped a trial button, so we can measure our Meta ads and show them again to people who visited. It never runs on the sign-in, checkout or welcome pages or once you are signed in, it does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, and you can switch it off under Your choices. Under California law this counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. When you start a trial from a browser where the pixel can run, we also tell Meta from our server that a trial started, with your email address in hashed form and the pixel's browser identifiers, so Meta can match the trial to the ad that brought you; we never send your IP address.
On the marketing pages (the homepage, how it works, research, last session, why SPX and pricing) and, from October 5, 2026, on the member desk, we also use PostHog to record sessions: the pages you view, where you click and how far you scroll, so we can see how the pages read and where they lose people. Anything you type into a form is masked before it leaves your browser, and on the desk so is your email address. PostHog keeps an identifier in a cookie and in your browser's storage: anonymous on the marketing pages, and on the desk a random identifier we derive from your account, never your email, so your visits on different devices count as one member. It never runs on the sign-in page or the API, account and billing pages, and it stays off when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Members who joined before October 5 are recorded on the desk only after we have emailed them this change.
When you sign in
You sign in with Google or a one-time email link, and starting a trial signs you in on the browser you checked out in. With Google, we receive your name and email address from Google; we never receive your Google password. We set a sign-in cookie so you stay signed in.
While you use the desk
We keep a usage record per member: which days you visited, how many minutes the desk was open and visible, which pages you viewed, when you accepted the member terms, and alert preferences you set. We use it to understand whether the product is useful, for example whether you were watching when a call fired.
When you pay
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; we receive your billing email, plan and payment status. If you reached us from an ad or a tagged link, your browser keeps the campaign tag and the ad's click identifier for 30 days, and they are attached to your subscription when you check out, so we can tell which campaigns bring members.
When you sign up for the daily recap
We keep your email address, when you signed up and confirmed, and the one-word channel you came from (for example an ad or a tagged link), so we can send one email after each session's close. We send nothing until you confirm from the link we email you. Every recap has an unsubscribe link; after you unsubscribe we keep the address only to make sure no more recaps go to it.
When you use a referral link
If you open a member's referral link, your browser keeps the referral code for up to 60 days so checkout can apply it, and it is attached to your subscription. We record which member referred which subscription and whether that member earned a credit. The member who referred you sees only counts, never your email.
How we use it
- to run the Service, decide who has access, and deliver what you signed up for;
- to email you about your reservation, account or subscription, and about material changes to our terms;
- to understand and improve the product;
- to prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
Who processes it for us
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the visit analytics.
- Google measures whether our Google ads bring visitors and sign-ups, through the Google Ads tag on the public pages.
- Meta receives page views and trial-button taps from the public pages through the Meta Pixel, and a hashed email when a trial starts, to measure our ads and show them to past visitors.
- PostHog records sessions on the marketing pages and the member desk, with form inputs (and on the desk your email address) masked.
- Upstash stores reservations and usage records.
- Google handles sign-in.
- Bird delivers the one-time sign-in link when you sign in by email.
- Slack receives internal notifications, which can include your email address, such as when you reserve a seat or when a member first opens the desk each day.
- Stripe processes payments.
Beyond these providers, we share personal information only if the law requires it or to protect our rights, and in a merger or sale of the business, where it would stay under a policy at least this protective.
How long we keep it
Reservations stay until you ask us to delete them. Desk usage records are deleted automatically after 180 days. Account and billing records are kept while you are a member and afterward as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices
Email hello@synapseengine.ai to see what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, including removing a reservation. We answer within 30 days. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we do not sell personal information. The Meta Pixel described above shares it for cross-context behavioral advertising: to opt out, send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser or use the switch below, which stops the pixel in this browser. Our Google Ads tag runs with ad personalization off and restricted data processing on, and it honors Global Privacy Control.
Security
Access to member data is limited to the operator, data is encrypted in transit, and member views are built from an allow-list of fields so that account and trading details are never sent to your browser. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at hello@synapseengine.ai if you find a problem.
Children
Synapse is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post changes here with a new effective date, and email members before a material change takes effect.
